Join us on the 23rd May for this one off experience day. Forge your very own spatula and tongs. Then if your free on the 24th may the next day join us for a BBQ and Forge-In.
Using our coke fires and hand hammers, we will show you how tools have been made for thousands of years. This course is the perfect mix of brawn and brains, power and precision. You will need to draw out your material, shape the tong paddles and bend your steel so that everything is in-line and with the right amount of resistance that they are comfortable to use. Under the guidance of our blacksmiths you can be sure that you will have a functional tool at the end of your experience, one that will remain BBQ-ready for years to come. All the tools will be given a coat of wax to make sure that they are protected from outside elements (like your typical British BBQ which seems to be a magnet for a rain shower).
Join us for a “Forge-In” and BBQ the next day wear you can uses the fires and anvils to make anything you might like. Meet other smiths of all leaves and skill and possibly see some crazy stuff getting forged.
BBQ is a Bring your own food & Drink and cook it yourself. We will have several BBQ’s available worst case we can uses the blacksmith fires!!
